‘Dead Drops’ a new project by Berlin based artist Aram Bartholl. ‘Dead Drops’ is an anonymous, offline, peer to peer file-sharing network in public space. Aram is ‘injecting’ USB flash drives into walls, buildings and curbs accessable to anybody in public space. You are invited to go to these places (so far 5 in NYC) to drop or find files on a dead drop. Plug your laptop to a wall, house or pole to share your favorite files and data. Each dead drop contains a readme.txt file explaining the project. ‘Dead Drops’ is still in progress, to be continued here and in more cities. Full documentation, movie, map and ‘How to make your own dead drop’ manual coming soon!
Current NYC ‘Dead Drops’ Locations:
87 3rd Avenue, Brooklyn, NY (Makerbot)
Empire Fulton Ferry Park, Brooklyn, NY (Dumbo)
235 Bowery, NY (New Museum)
Union Square, NY (Subway Station 14th St)
540 West 21st Street, NY (Eyebeam)

Last week the British manufacturer have announced that the concept will become reality when it goes into production next year. The Aston Martin Cygnet is just three metres long, but can seat up to four people and is the ideal size for driving in today’s busy towns and cities. The city car shown until now in concept form is based heavily on the Toyota iQ, but in Cygnet form will be hand-assembled at Aston’s factory at Gaydon in Warwickshire, England, alongside the company’s Grand Tourers.

How cute is this!
The perfect accessory for zoning out to Netflix with, this oddly appropriate iPad dock modeled after an early '80s CRT television set was designed by Jonas Damon, creative director for Frog Design's New York office. It comes complete with grainy television snow screen saver, though a scrambled pay TV signal would add a touch more realism if I recall correctly.
